Krysta, daughter of Bill and Chris Hankee, collapsed while exercising in a gym in New York City in September of 2007, at the age of 22, and died a few days later. She loved her friends, family and community. She graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School in 2003 where she excelled as a student and athlete. Krysta attended The American University in Washington, D.C. for two years and was a member of the American University Field Hockey Team (Patriot League Champions). She was a Patriot League Scholar Athlete both years. Krysta graduated from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in Manhattan in 2007, with a degree in Marketing and Foreign Business. Upon graduation she secured employment as an assistant project manager at Triangle Equities of Whitestone, New York where she worked until her tragic death.

After viewing this webpage I couldn’t help but leave a reply.
I will forever Remember Krista, first a the shy freshman, then the confident beautiful women she blossomed into as a senior. I will always remember her positive attitude she had for me in Jr High when she was the one and only goalie..what a Talent she proved to be in the classroom and on the field.
I am saddened by your loss, but grateful I had the opportunity to know her and your family. Her spirit flows as bright as her smile. I will look forward to the golf tourney…Patty (Berger) Mengel

I want to once again express our appreciation to Mr.and Mrs Hankee for the opportunity they have afforded our daugther on behalf of their lovely daughter Krista. On July 9th we were speechless when Mr. Hankee called to tell us that the award had been doubled. We want everyone involved to feel confident in knowing that without reservation, we can attest to the fact that Morgan will bring pride to their endeavors and will prove to be an examplary recipient for Krista’s scholarship.
We are also proud that there seems to be many ties to Krista though our family. Krista graduated, from Northwestern HS, with Morgan’s cousin, Morgan will be attending Albright with Krista’s cousin and our oldest daughter was a graduate of American University.
Once again thank you to the Hankees and to everyone who has made this scholarship possible.

Bill & Chris,
Thank you for inviting me to present the 2011 recipient of the TeenWorks Community Service Scholarship to Kelly Boyd. I was honored to know Krysta, even for a brief time but her life lives on through all she touched. You and Bill are an inspiration.
